Like most Minnesotans, you cherish our state’s lakes, rivers, streams, forests, natural areas, parks and trails – and want ensure that future generations enjoy them, too.
But now, our environmental protections are under attack. Your support is critical to helping us defend our environmental protections.
In 2007 MEP worked to pass the Renewable Energy Standard, laying out a path to a clean energy future for our state. Our decades-long nuclear moratorium is at risk of being repealed. Environmental review — a permitting process to allow companies to pollute — will now have those very same companies doing their own reviews and oversight. Dirty coal is being proposed instead of job-producing clean energy options. There’s even talk of raiding the Legacy Funds that our citizens expressly voted to use for the environment.
Today, all of these environmental protections are under attack and at risk of being dismantled. We need your help to keep Minnesota moving forward to a clean energy future — not unraveling our environmental protections and moving backward to the old days of dirty, polluting energy.
